As the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE 2024) kicks off today in Kampala, Uganda, there has been a meeting between leading industry personalities, Alain St. Ange, the Tourism Consultant from Seychelles, Uganda’s Minister of Tourism, Honorable Tom R. Butime, and CEO of Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), Lily Ajarova.
POATE is Uganda’s flagship travel tradeshow and is regarded as East Africa’s Premier Tourism Event. The revered tourism personality and former Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine Minister of Seychelles who is also the President of the African Tourism Board, Alain St. Ange is in Uganda at the invitation of Honorable Tom R. Butime, whose full portfolio is Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities.
Alongside Cuthbert Ncube, the Executive Chairman of the African Tourism Board, St. Ange is in Uganda’s capital of Kampala, with other members of the Continent’s Tourism Boards delegation who traveled to Uganda for this important tourism event.
St. Ange today heads his very own “Saint Ange Tourism Consultancy” working with Tourism Boards and Ministries of Tourism in Africa and the ASEAN Block and is set to discuss with Uganda cooperation opportunities in relooking at Tourism as a vital economic industry and also to raise the visibility of tourism destinations in order to be better able to remain competitive at their main tourism source markets.
Alain St. Ange has years of experience in tourism as an industry players and remain eager to share his expertise on the African Continent.
In a related development, Dr. Alain St. Ange of the Seychelles who has been working across the African Continent as well as the ASEAN Block had earlier met Freda Akullu, the Investment Manager for Tourism & Project Coordinator in Uganda for EU Tourism Grant Facility as both attended the Official Opening Ceremony by the Vice President of Uganda of the 8th Edition of the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE 2024), East Africa’s Premier Tourism Event.
Alain St. Ange, the known Seychelles tourism personality and the island’s former Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine Minister is in Uganda at the invitation of Minister Tom R. Butime, the Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities of Uganda discussed opportunities with Freda Akullu related to his expertise in the work or projects by the Investment Manager Tourism in Uganda who also is the Project Coordinator for EU Tourism Grant Facility.
St. Ange is well versed is tourism growth potentials and existing opportunities in Africa. He was the founding President of the African Tourism Board and used this meeting to discuss the potential for his “Saint Ange Tourism Consultancy” with the Development Bank Tourism Desk that ties in with his work or missions with Tourism Boards and Ministries of Tourism in Africa, as the continent, inclusive of Uganda is pushing to consolidate their Tourism as a vital economic industry.
