Pearl Hoareau Kakooza is New Chairperson of Board of UTB

Honorable Tom R. Butime, the Minister for Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities of Uganda has appointed Pearl Hoareau Kakooza as the new Chairman of the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB).

She has been seen in the company of the Vice President of Uganda and of the sitting Ministers at the Official Opening Ceremony of Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE) of Uganda, East Africa’s Premier Tourism Event.

Hon. Butime inaugurated the new members of the Board of Directors of UTB which include:

  • Ms. Hoareau Kakooza Pearl – Chairperson
  • Ms. Olive Birungi Lumonya
  • Ms. kebirungi Sally Sandra
  • Mr. Mulinde Tony
  • Mr. Kiyimba Rashid
  • Mr. Kawamara Ronald Kazooba
  • Mr. Operemo Vicent
  • Mr. Stephen Sany Masaba
  • Mr. Vivian Lyazi
  • Ms. Margaret Arach Ojara
  • Ms. Lilly Ajarova

Ms. Hoareau Kakooza is the daughter of Noella Hoareau nee Figaro of Mont Buxton who moved to Uganda in 1958 from the Seychelles. Her father is Jean Hoareau who also moved to Uganda in 1958 and married Noella in Uganda in 1959. Hoareau Kakooza and her two siblings were all born in Uganda.

Mrs. Hoareau Kakooza is the MD and Owner of FCM Travel Solutions, a Tour and Travel agency in Kampala. She is also the Chairperson of The Uganda Association of Travel Agents.

Alain St. Ange, the President of the African Tourism Board and former Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine of the Seychelles, who is in Uganda for the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE) caught up with the new chairperson of the Board of the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), Mrs. Hoareau Kakooza in Kampala and congratulate her on her new appointment. Mr. St. Ange assured her of the support of the African Tourism Board (ATB) during her term of office.
