Following a successful hosting of the seventh Swahili International Tourism Expo (S!TE 2023), by the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB), the Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism, Hon. Angellah Kairuki, has announced the date of the eighth edition of the expo (S!TE, 2024) as October 11–13.
Swahili International Tourism Expo (S!TE 2023) took place from 6–8 October 2023 in Dar es Salaam, with several international participants from various parts of the world, local businesses and service providers and visitors in attendance. Hon. Angellah Kairuki (Mb) tasked the organizers to improve on the success of S!TE 2023 to get more participants from different parts of the world, and make the next Swahili International Tourism Expo (S!TE 2024) better.
The Honorable Minister made the statement on the last day of the S!TE 2023 as she closed the exhibition which was held at the Mlimani City Events Hall Centre, Dar es Salaam. She expressed her gratitude to all the stakeholders who participated in this year’s fair, saying that without their participation, it could not have been held at the level and quality it was.
She congratulated the Tanzania Wildlife Authority (TAWA) for decorating the exhibition by organizing a live wildlife garden, which has become a big attraction for the people who visited. In addition, she has asked the stakeholders to comment on this year’s exhibition to help improve next year’s exhibition and make it international.
“These improvements will build us up and help us enter major international exhibitions such as the World Tourism Market,” explained Hon. Kairuki.
Previously, Hon. Kairuki said that in addition to the great work done to improve the infrastructure and help bring in tourists, he also explained that the large increase in tourists in the country is due to the good work done by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, through the movie “The Royal Tour.” This film was shown on many recognized television stations in the United States and elsewhere in the world to promote Tanzania’s tourist attractions.
