Ahead of Uganda‘s flagship travel and tourism tradeshow, Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE 2024), the highly revered Seychelles Tourism Consultant, Alain St. Ange, has paid a courtesy call on the legendary Prof. Wolfgang Thome, publisher of ATC News this morning, after arriving in the Ugandan capital, Kampala.
The two tourism giants have been friends for many years and have always followed each others work and involvement in the industry passionately.
The Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE) is regarded as East Africa’s Premier Tourism Event and the Seychelles tourism personality and the island’s former Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine Minister is in Uganda at the invitation of Honorable Tom R. Butime, the Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities for POATE 2024.
Alain St. Ange will be joining other members of the delegation of African Tourism Board (ATB), who are traveling to the East African country, appropriately dubbed, “Pearl of Africa” for POATE 2024.
St. Ange who was the founding President of the African Tourism Board, today heads his very own “Saint Ange Tourism Consultancy” working with Tourism Boards and Ministries of Tourism in Africa and the ASEAN Block in relooking at Tourism as a vital economic industry and also to raise the visibility of tourism destinations in order to be better able to remain competitive at their main tourism source markets was welcomed by Wolfgang Thome and his wife Esther at their Kampala home. “It was so nice to catch up with a great friend and enjoy their family hospitality. We reminisced on our different meeting over the last so many years with a special look at Tourism as it stands today” said Alain St. Ange, before adding that the years of experience of key tourism players should never be allowed to be ignored.
