A new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for South African Tourism (SA Tourism) has been appointed. The announcement of Nombulelo Guliwe CA (SA) as New CEO of SA Tourism was made today in a short press release from South African Tourism.
Details of the press release reads; “Following a comprehensive recruitment process, the Board of South African Tourism is happy to announce that Nombulelo Guliwe CA (SA) has accepted our offer for her to serve as CEO of South African Tourism on a five-year contract.
Ms. Guliwe, 37, is a qualified Chartered Accountant and member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. She became the first black female and youngest SA Tourism Chief Financial Officer in 2019.
Ms. Guliwe is currently the Acting CEO and Interim Chief Financial Officer and brings a wealth of knowledge having served in various leadership roles throughout her career including Chief Financial Officer at SA Tourism since August 2019. Prior to this, she had been with SA Tourism for 8 years.”
The new Chief Executive Officer, Nombulelo Guliwe CA (SA) joined South African Tourism as a Financial Compliance & Performance Manager in 2011. She has since held numerous finance management positions within the organisation, leading to her appointment as Chief Financial Officer in August 2019.
The 37-year old Nombulelo Guliwe, a qualified Chartered Accountant is highly skilled in strategic planning and execution, financial reporting and budgeting, supply chain and asset management as well as people management. She is currently the chair of the South African Tourism Pension Fund, and has been a trustee of the same fund since 2012.
She is registered with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants as a Chartered Accountant (SA) and holds a Bachelor degree and Bachelor Honours degree in Accounting from the University of Johannesburg.
