Tintswalo has appointed Simon Vuvunga as General Manager of Tintswalo Siankaba Zambezi River Lodge in Livingstone, Zambia. Tintswalo took over the management of the Siankaba treehouse tented camp in 2023, which is located on two small, private islands in the Zambezi River.
Born and bred in Zambia, Simon Vuvunga has been involved at Siankaba since 2015, first on the finance side responsible for Auditing, Taxation, Financial Management and Accounting, before he took the reigns as General Manager of the camp in 2020.
Tintswalo Siankaba supports various community upliftment projects and initiatives such as the local school. All employees are recruited from the local community and enrolled in ongoing training programmes. Vuvunga says his vision is to create a welcoming and unforgettable Tintswalo experience for all guests, providing top-notch hospitality, outstanding amenities, and exceptional service. ‘Together with my team, we strive to build the Tintswalo brand here in Zambia, maintaining its integrity and contributing to its success within the hospitality industry in Southern Africa.’
Tintswalo Siankaba presents an authentic African adventure. Guest experiences include a cultural tour to visit the local communities, educational nature walks within the island forest, and exploring the bike trails around the lodge. Rich in plant and birdlife, it is a place of spectacular natural beauty. The treehouse tented camp is linked by a winding, raised walkway connecting seven luxury river tents that are positioned in the tree canopy, each with a private balcony extending over the river. At the main lodge the lounge and dining areas overlook the forest and a swimming pool with poolside loungers.
Tintswalo at Siankaba provides convenient access to some of the region’s top tourist attractions. Lodge activities include a guided trip to Victoria Falls with an excursion to the local curio market, while the river provides ample opportunities for fishing, sunset cruises and Mokoro boat trips.
