Former Tourism Minister of the Seychelles, Alain St. Ange has embarked on his second overseas mission of 2024 by heading to Reunion Island. St. Ange returned to the islands last week after his working visit to Lagos in Nigeria where he spoke at the unveiling of the wall highlighting the ‘7 Wonders of Nigeria’ at the National Museum in Lagos.
The highly revered tourism legend was in attendance at the 60th birthday surprise party celebration for Africa’s tourism icon, Ikechi Uko who is the publisher of ATQ magazine and organizer of Akwaaba African Travel Market, the biggest travel tradeshow in West Africa.
When he addressed the party in honour of Amb. Ikechi Uko, the Seychelles former Minister spoke about the work for Africa that Ikechi Uko has been doing for so many years. “He is from Africa, he believes in Africa and he knows Africa” said St. Ange in the presence of the hundreds gathered for the event.
During the visit to Nigeria, Alain St. Ange also met the press and was confirmed by Toni Ukachukwu of Walk For Love Africa, as a director for organization. He was also interviewed at length for a new tourism glossy publication set to be launched in the coming weeks.
Alain St. Ange left Seychelles again this weekend again for Reunion Island where he will address the island’s business community on tourism in Reunion, and in the Indian Ocean Islands.
This working visit by Alain St. Ange is a private sector initiative and staged because on the importance of Tourism for the region. The event is set to be a fully booked one where the island’s former Tourism Minister will be delivering the address before taking questions from those present.
Alain St. Ange said before leaving Seychelles that the importance of Tourism as a key industry for the region will need to see everyone pulling together for safeguarding the industry that so many depend on. St. Ange today runs his own ‘Saint Ange Tourism Consultancy’ business and is seen addressing Tourism Conferences across Africa and the ASEAN Block. He is recognized as a tourism expert and remains a sought after consultant
