As the countdown to the highly anticipated 16th edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo (Sanganai2023) gather momentum, the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) is pleased to announce that preparations are well underway. A significant number of buyers from prestigious source markets have already confirmed their participation for Sanganai2023.
The Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo, renowned as an annual tourism trade fair, is organized by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority to showcase the finest range of Zimbabwe’s tourism products. Scheduled to take place from 12-14 October in Bulawayo, Sanganai2023 is expected to attract a diverse group of international visitors and media from across the globe.
“We are excited to host the 16th edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo in Bulawayo from the 12th to the 14th of October,” said a spokesperson from the ZTA.
“We have extended invitations to a substantial number of buyers from established source markets, including the United States of America, Germany, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, China, North Korea, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, and more.”
The ZTA has reported positive uptake of exhibition space and is still welcoming exhibitors to join Sanganai2023. “We eagerly anticipate hosting these esteemed buyers. Our exhibitors are eager to showcase the beauty that our country has to offer. For those interested in exhibiting at the 16th edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo, we are open and willing to accommodate more local players. The response to exhibition uptake has been overwhelmingly positive,” affirmed the ZTA.
In a related development, South African Airways (SAA) is pleased to announce its anticipation for the upcoming Sanganai2023, scheduled to take place in Bulawayo from October 12th to 14th.
Julia Rewayi, the Country Manager of South African Airways in Zimbabwe, expresses her enthusiasm for this prominent event. “The Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo serves as a significant platform for highlighting the immense potential of the tourism industry in the region. SAA is delighted to have South Africa Tourism, along with representatives from the nine provinces and various individual companies, showcasing their offerings at this prestigious event,” said Rewayi.
Rewayi said, SAA, in collaboration with both SA Tourism and the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority, is committed to spur the growth of traffic between the two neighboring countries. “We celebrate the fact that both South Africa and Zimbabwe experienced significant increases in tourist arrivals in 2022,” South Africa registered over half a million visitors from Zimbabwe, while Zimbabwe received over 230 thousand tourists from South Africa. “These numbers underscore the symbiotic trade relations that exist between the two countries, which are exceptional for the aviation sector. SAA has historically played a critical role in providing air access and strengthening these relationships,” added Rewayi.
“This expo provides an excellent opportunity for SAA to showcase our exceptional services, extensive network, and the unique travel experiences we offer. In doing so, we aim to highlight the captivating attractions and destinations within both Zimbabwe and South Africa, as well as the seamless connectivity we provide to destinations around the world,” said Rewayi.
Julie Rewayi added that the SAA office in Zimbabwe, eagerly anticipates engaging with industry stakeholders, fostering partnerships, and exploring opportunities for collaboration during the expo. She believes that events like the Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo play a pivotal role in promoting tourism, driving economic growth, and establishing sustainable relationships within the travel industry.
