CEO of Inter Tourism Expo Accra (iNTTA), Emmanuel Treku, has met with Alain St. Ange, Ghana’s Technical Consultant on tourism about the Inter Tourism Expo Accra which is schedule for next month. Alain St. Ange is the former Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine of the Seychelles, and currently is the Head of the Saint Ange Tourism Consultancy. The two tourism practitioners met together in Accra to discuss cooperation for the coming expo in September.
St. Ange who had just arrived in Ghana as part of his Tourism Consultancy work was formally invited to address the September 2023 expo which is set to feature a number of personalities take to the podium in the line-up of speakers this year.
“I am honoured to have been invited to be part of the dignitaries invited to address this coming Ghana Expo in September that will be staged at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra. The interest is said to have surpassed expectations and yes I will make it a point to be present to support this African Tourism initiative” said Alain St. Ange.
The Seychelles born and bred Tourism Consultant who had a full day of meetings following his arrival in Accra including with the Ghana Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MoTAC) which was followed with a meeting with a member of the private sector trade looking at a new hotel development project in Ghana.
“A lot is happening in Ghana these days which is good news for Africa and the continent’s Tourism industry” said Alain St. Ange who has had a lot to do in Ghana in recent times.
Earlier in the year, the Ghana Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture engaged the services of St. Ange to support its ongoing drive of positioning Tourism, Arts and Culture as the number one tourism destination in Africa. With the move the Ghana Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture expect that tourism as a sector will increase its contribution to Ghana’s GDP
St. Ange’s hiring as Technical Consultant was facilitated through the Ghana Tourism Development Project’s facility from the International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank implemented by the Ghana Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture. He is expected to support the Ghana Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture to achieve the following objectives:
- Provide strategic & technical guidance in respect of PPP tourism school and doing so by working with the school’s Transaction Advisor.
- Provide strategic & technical guidance to develop a Sector-wide Strategy for the tourism sector in Ghana.
- Advise in developing a foundation for a West African Regional approach to tourism and hospitality development.
